POSITION SUMMARY:
The Pool Snack Bar Attendant is responsible for providing excellent customer service at the poolside snack bar at the MacColl YMCA. This role includes stocking displays, tallying inventory, handling cash transactions, maintaining a clean and safe environment, and ensuring a positive experience for all members and guests.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Customer Service:

Greet and interact with members and guests in a friendly and professional manner.

Take and prepare food and beverage orders accurately and efficiently.

Address customer inquiries and resolve complaints promptly.

Food and Beverage Preparation:
-
Prepare and serve snacks and beverages according to YMCA standards.
-
Ensure food safety and hygiene practices are strictly followed.
-
Restock food, beverages, and supplies as needed.

Cash Handling:
-
Operate the cash register and handle cash transactions accurately.
-
Balance cash register at the beginning and end of each shift.
-
Follow proper cash handling procedures to ensure security and accountability.

Maintenance and Cleanliness:
-
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the snack bar area, including counters, equipment, and seating areas.

Ensure all health and safety regulations are adhered to, including proper sanitation of food preparation areas and equipment.

Dispose of waste and recyclables appropriately.

Team Collaboration:

Work cooperatively with other staff members to ensure efficient operation of the snack bar.

Communicate effectively with supervisors regarding inventory needs, maintenance issues, and customer feedback.

Participate in staff meetings and training sessions as required.

Previous experience in food service or customer service preferred.

Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Ability to handle cash transactions accurately.

Basic knowledge of food safety and hygiene practices.

Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Ability to work in an outdoor environment with varying weather conditions.

Flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays.

Hours may vary based on pool operational hours and seasonal demand.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Must be able to lift and carry food and supplies weighing up to 25 pounds.

Ability to stand or sit while maintaining alertness for several hours at a time.

Position may require bending, leaning, kneeling, and walking.
