Reporting to the Quality Superintendent, the Quality Supervisor is responsible for:
- Actively supporting and promoting safe work practices throughout the mill by being present at safety activities and personally encouraging safe behaviors. Conducting monthly safety meeting and performing safety audits.
- Providing leadership and guidance to salaried and hourly employees while promoting employee involvement and participation in problem solving and continuous improvement.
- Ensuring compliance with policies, procedures, rules, regulations and the collective agreement, and implementing appropriate measures as required.
- Working closely with sales employees and customer service to ensure quality products are available to customers.
- Researching quality issues and deciding on the disposition of inventory.
- Supporting technical services with quality issues and dealing with customers.
- Ensuring department compliance with ISO standards.
- Assisting with Product Stewardship and Food Safety Policy processes.
Requirements:
- Bachelor of Science in Pulp and Paper or Chemical Engineering and/or equivalent experience.
- Experience in pulp and paper industry is preferred.
- Strong communication, organization, and interpersonal relationship skills. Detail oriented, with experience which demonstrates data analysis and analytical problem-solving abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft products (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, MS Project, Visio).
- Experience working in cross-functional teams and/or leading departmental teams.
