Ultrasound Tech - FSED - PRN
Position Overview:
- We are seeking an experienced Ultrasound Technologist / Sonographer to join our team! This is a PRN position, working at our Free Standing Emergency Department, 1-2 shifts per week, and as needed.
Responsibilities:
- The Ultrasound Tech is responsible for educating patients before exams and providing post-procedure instructions.
- They consistently gather all necessary ultrasound exam information.
- The role may involve performing mobile ultrasound procedures.
- The Ultrasound Tech operates independently and consults with the Radiologist when necessary.
- They are responsible for performing ultrasound interventional procedures using sterile techniques.
- Equipment maintenance, cleaning, and disinfection of probes after each patient are part of the job.
- The Ultrasound Tech may assist physicians with procedures such as biopsies and drainage.
- Keeping an Ultrasound patient log book and collecting data for statistics is part of the role.
- Ensuring correct labeling of body parts in images and other assigned duties are also responsibilities.
Qualifications:
- An Associate's Applied Science in Sonography or a related field is required.
- Registration with the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) is required.
- Preferred qualification: Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT) certification.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association is necessary upon hire.
- A minimum of one (1) year of experience in an acute care hospital setting is required, with demonstrated knowledge of technical, diagnostic, and emergency procedures related to Imaging/Radiology.
- The candidate must be willing to be on-call during after-hours, weekends, and holidays as needed.
