Job Overview:
We are seeking a Floor Supervisor to lead and oversee the development of our autonomous surface vessels (ASVs) which will redefine capabilities for the DoD. You will work closely with a team of engineers, technicians, and researchers to drive innovation and build the first-ever production line of our ASVs.
Responsibilities:
- Project Leadership: Lead and manage R&D projects related to autonomous surface vessels. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure projects are executed efficiently and meet established goals and timelines
- Technical Expertise: Possess a deep understanding of electro-mechanical, sensor integration, and final integration
- Research and Development: Drive innovation by conducting research, prototyping, and testing of cutting-edge technologies and systems related to autonomous surface vessels
- Quality Assurance: Maintain high-quality standards in all R&D activities. Implement rigorous testing and validation procedures to ensure the reliability and performance of ASV components and systems
- Budget Management: Work closely with the management team to develop and manage R&D budgets, ensuring efficient resource allocation and cost control
- Safety Compliance: Enforce safety protocols and guidelines in all R&D activities to ensure a safe and secure working environment for all team members
- Documentation: Maintain detailed records of R&D activities, including design documents, test plans, and results. Generate reports and presentations to communicate progress and findings to stakeholders
- Collaboration: Foster a culture of collaboration, creativity, and innovation within the R&D team. Promote knowledge sharing and cross-functional teamwork
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or equivalent work experience
- Proven experience leading R&D projects in the field of autonomous systems, maritime technology, or related areas
- Strong technical expertise in autonomous navigation, sensor integration, and control algorithms
- Proficiency in project management tools and methodologies
- Excellent problem-solving skills and a creative approach to technical challenges
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to motivate and mentor a team
- Knowledge of DoD regulations and standards related to autonomous systems is a plus
- Prior experience working on defense-related projects is a plus
