Responsibilities & Duties:
Pre-Production
- Develop shot lists, storyboards, & treatments.
- Location scout potential production sites.
- Source talent, props, & crew.
- Develop shooting schedules.
- Pull location permits & verify sUAS conflicts/restrictions*
Production
- Working independently, or with a crew: Operate bleeding-edge RED, Canon, & DJI cameras; gimbal stabilizers; & professional audio equipment.
- Coordinate & lead on-schedule productions at client sites or in our 3,500 sq ft studio.
- Interact with clients in a competent, professional manner.
- Follow standard set etiquette best-practices.
Post-Production
- Ingest, assemble, & edit RAW photo/video projects to a fine degree of polish.
- Color correct & grade footage.
- Repair, normalize, & master audio.
- Create basic motion graphics & titles.
- Exercise care & due regard in maintaining FPW organization standards.
- Collaborate with crew members & stakeholders to deliver fine-quality projects within schedule, budget, & scope.
- Adapt to new or changing software, plugins, & workflows.
Schedule:
- 8-hour routine office shifts
- Up to 10-hour production shifts (varies)
- Up to 15-hour shifts when including travel
- Overtime
Travel Expectations:
Depending on workload, frequent travel to client sites may be required. This includes intra-PNW driving & air travel across the USA. Travel may be required with short notice, with a minimum of 1-2 weeks. Travel frequently requires 1 overnight stay, & up to 5.
Knowledge & Skill MUST HAVES:
- NLE & Photo Editing: Must possess proficiency in Davinci Resolve & Adobe Premiere. Must possess a basic understanding of Adobe Photoshop, Lightroom, Illustrator, & After Effects.
- Production: Must possess proficiency in framing & exposure; photo/video camera fundamentals (ISO, Aperture, Shutter speed, frame rate, etc.); & how to achieve a motivated image with a combination of the above.
- Grip Skills: Must be able to set up & maintain camera & support gear, lighting equipment, audio equipment, & sets.
- Set Etiquette: Possess a competent, professional, & safe appearance, attitude, & work ethic on-set.
- Time Management Skills: Utilize excellent time management & project management skills to consistently meet deadlines, prioritize tasks appropriately, & to communicate promptly if a task is not to be completed on time.
- Problem-Solving Skills: Must display the ability to effectively prioritize workload on multiple projects simultaneously & accept changes with short notice & tolerate frequent interruptions.
- Critical Thinking Skills: Must display strong critical thinking, organizational, & analytical capabilities when interacting with clients, managers, peers, & stakeholders.
- Communication Skills: Must be able to listen carefully in order to accurately gather facts & figures from managers & stakeholders. Must also be able to clearly articulate the results of your work & present their findings in written reports.
- Attention To Detail: Must pay strong attention to detail in order to be able to keep the information accurate & organized while utilizing skills & knowledge to quickly learn about the project or product being developed.
Desired Competencies
- VFX: Experience with compositing & animation.
- 3D: Experience with modeling, rigging, texturing, & lighting.
- sUAS: Experience with the safe planning & operation of sUAS platforms for commercial work, & possesses an FAA Part 107 certificate.
- AI: Proficiency with AI tools & frameworks for content generation or enhancement, process improvement, & workload mitigation.
Education & Experience Expectations:
- Commercial Photography & Videography experience.
- A valid Passport is required for this role.
- Minimum 2yrs of commercial photography and/or videography (including wedding & real estate) & editing experience
- OR
- 4yrs of hobby experience, including editing
- OR
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, possessing demonstrative photography or video work.
