Technical Business Development Manager - Enzyme & Function
IMCD US is looking for a Technical Business Development Manager to represent and promote our Enzyme, Culture and Function ingredient portfolio. This person will distinguish IMCD with value added technical support for our customers, grow Enzyme, Cultures and Functional portfolio sales and build key customer relationships with new and existing customers.
Key Responsibilities
Lead Enzyme and Function projects to completion with the collaboration of regional Account Managers
Organize and lead Enzyme and Function pillar promotions including feedback from the customer to IMCD and to the Principal.
Facilitate customer specific presentations on IMCD Enzyme and Function capabilities, trend analysis and end applications.
Support and educate Regional Account Managers on Enzyme, Culture and Function pillar ingredient sales strategy.
Liaison with Function Pillar Principals and IMCD Principal Managers on goals and objectives, as well as specific product and market targets
Make technical product recommendations.
Understand the Function pillar portfolio.
Facilitate interaction with the Technical Centre staff including education, prototype development, project work and presentation preparation.
Work with staff from various departments to increase sales opportunities and maximize revenue.
Handle customer objections by clarifying information, emphasizing benefits, and working through differences to a positive conclusion.
Predict customers’ future needs and devise strategies and action plans to meet those needs.
Set sales targets and provide sales support.
Identify opportunities for campaigns, services, and distribution channels that will lead to increased sales.
Manage existing customers to ensure ongoing satisfaction and retain business.
Ensure that data is accurately entered and managed within the company’s sales management system.
Qualifications/Competencies
Minimum B.S. Degree in Food Science or other related Science.
Minimum 5-7 years’ experience in the food industry with 3-5 years working with Enzymes.
A thorough understanding of the fermentation process.
Proven sales experience or a strong sales acumen.
Competency, Sales Management Systems and Microsoft Office or equivalent.
Demonstrated enthusiasm, self-motivation, and team player mentality.
Good relationship building skills.
Will exhibit an eagerness for contributing beyond immediate duties.
Proven understanding of the industry and area of service.
Strong analytical and research skills.
A well-defined sense of diplomacy, including solid negotiation, conflict resolution, and people management skills.

Supervisory Responsibility:
This position has no supervisory responsibilities
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:
This is a full-time position and the hours of work and days are Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to
5 p.m., unless otherwise directed. Additional hours may be required as needed.
Travel:
Travel is required up to 50% of the time. Involves some laboratory work.
