The General Manager in the Fire Protection Industry is a leadership role responsible for overseeing all aspects of the company's operations related to fire protection systems and services. This individual plays a critical role in driving the company's strategic objectives, managing day-to-day operations, ensuring customer satisfaction, and fostering a culture of safety and excellence within the organization. Delta is based in North Hollywood yet services the broader Southern California footprint. Responsibilities:
Strategic Planning:
- Develop and implement strategic plans to drive business growth, expand market share, and achieve financial objectives. Identify emerging trends, market opportunities, and potential risks within the fire protection industry.
Operations Management:
- Oversee all operational activities, including project management, installation, maintenance, and inspection of fire protection systems. Ensure compliance with industry regulations, standards, and codes.
Team Leadership:
- Provide strong leadership to a diverse team of managers, technicians, engineers, and administrative staff. Foster a collaborative and inclusive work environment, promote professional development, and mentor employees for career growth.
Customer Relationship Management:
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers, contractors, vendors, and industry stakeholders. Address customer inquiries, resolve issues promptly, and ensure high levels of customer satisfaction.
Financial Management:
- Develop and manage budgets, forecasts, and financial reports. Monitor financial performance, analyze variances, and implement cost-saving measures to optimize profitability.
Quality Assurance and Safety Compliance:
- Implement quality assurance programs to ensure the highest standards of service and workmanship. Promote a culture of safety, enforce compliance with safety regulations, and conduct regular safety training for employees.
Business Development:
- Identify new business opportunities, pursue sales leads, and participate in proposal development and contract negotiations. Collaborate with marketing and sales teams to develop effective marketing strategies and promotional campaigns.
Vendor and Supplier Management:
- Establish and maintain relationships with suppliers, manufacturers, and subcontractors. Negotiate contracts, manage vendor performance, and ensure timely delivery of materials and equipment.
Regulatory Compliance:
- Stay abreast of changes in fire protection regulations, building codes, and industry standards. Ensure that all operations and projects comply with local, state, and federal regulations.
Continuous Improvement:
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency, streamline processes, and optimize resource allocation. Implement best practices, technology upgrades, and innovation to stay competitive in the market.
Health & Safety:
- Champion a culture of Safety across all branch associates, working in partnership with Safety experts to ensure employees have the necessary tools and strategic implementation of personal protective equipment (PPE) for their work.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business Administration, or related field; Master's degree preferred.
- Proven experience (5+ years) in a leadership role within the fire protection industry or related field.
- Strong technical knowledge of fire protection systems, including fire alarms, sprinklers, suppression systems, and detection systems.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and execute strategic plans, manage budgets, and drive business results.
- Knowledge of relevant regulations, codes, and standards (NFPA, ICC, OSHA).
- Proficiency in project management software, CRM systems, and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Professional certifications (e.g., NICET, CFPS, PMP) are desirable.
- Strong commitment to safety, quality, and customer satisfaction.
