Duties and Overall Responsibilities
Lead, manage, and support team of Foundry and Machining Engineers
Collaborate with customers on product design and specifications
Provide Sales with quoting information for rates, processes, and tooling
Monitor, correct and improve Engineering productivity daily
Schedule engineering resources efficiently and effectively to meet internal/external needs
Develop timelines for new product launches and monitor progress
Evaluate Gross Margin Reports and develop engineering solutions for low margin product
Evaluate Scrap Reports and develop engineering solutions for product above 8% scrap
Evaluate root causes and develop engineering solutions for formal Corrective Actions
Assist with providing engineering solutions for operational issues
Develop, coach, and hold staff accountable to performance and company policies as required
Performs other duties as assigned
Physical Requirements
The physical requirements for this position require intermittent standing, walking, bending, sitting, pushing/pulling and lifting of parts up to 50 pounds. The Engineering Manager should have the physical and mental ability to perform the above necessary job functions while maintaining an exemplary safety record.
General Skills and Experience
· 2+ years management experience in a manufacturing environment
· 5+ years engineering experience in machining, foundry, or molding
· Ability to adapt to changing requirements with minimal interruption of normal workflow
· Excellent time management skills, problem solving skills and the ability to handle multiple tasks
· Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
· Ability to read, analyze and interpret manufacturing documents such as prints, instruction manuals, process sheets, work instructions, and safety documents
