Duties and responsibilities for the position include, but are not limited to:
- Retrieves and files records or information from files
- Places paper or electronic documents in EHR according to standards (uses computers, scanners, and software applications to perform document placement)
- Abstract data from charts and enters in appropriate EHR fields
- Reviews medical records and other source documents to collect clinical data according to guidelines
- Maintains security and confidentiality of medical records and Protected Health Information (PHI)
- Perform ad hoc reporting and system analysis as deemed necessary
- Assist in ongoing process improvement activities
- Sorting, scanning and indexing MHS approved documents while maintaining accuracy and consistently
- Responsible for routing deficient documents to the proper clinics
- Accurately complete scanning competency evaluation and will be monitored by QA standards
This is a non-exempt position, with standard work hours and occasional overtime and weekend assignments when necessary.
