The Assistant to Administrator is a position for individuals who meet the basic requirements of the Administrator position but need hands on training and experience in order to move into the position of Administrator. The Assistant to Administrator initially works with and provides assistance to the mentoring Administrator or Quality Assurance Manager (QA).
The Assistant to the Administrator will engage in such activities and duties related to the responsibilities off an Administrator such as the gathering and understanding of information needed to comply with the regulations required by Community Care Licensing and the Regional Center. This position will be utilized for specific on-the-job training. Therefore, it is also expected that the Assistant will learn how to effectively implement regulations and Company policies and procedures with regards to daily operation of the facility.
While the Assistant position is considered a training assignment, there are no promises that an Assistant will become an Administrator. If an Assistant is deemed not appropriate for the Administrator position upon completion of the Assistant position training, he/she will not advance to the Administrator position, but may seek other positions within the Company for which he/she may be eligible.
The Assistant reports directly to the Administrator or QA, who is responsible and accountable for the correct, high standard operations of the Facility. The Administrator or QA is also responsible for training and testing the Assistant to insure that all duties are completed and that Assistant understands and is ultimately able to proceed without guidance and able to move up to the position of Administrator.
The Assistant must receive written performance reviews thirty (30), sixty (60) and ninety (90) days. At the end of ninety days a full evaluation of Assistant performance must be submitted to the Director of Operations with recommendations for next step.
