Main Purpose:
In alignment with company vision, mission, values, and objectives, the Material Handler oversees and maintains warehouse stock, along with staging products based on the needs of the production floor. Assists with organizing and maintaining existing inventory, while effectively moving inventory and production supplies safely throughout the warehouse. Ensures safe and timely delivery of material by utilizing the highest OSHA safety standards.
Shift/hours: Monday - Friday 7:00AM-3:30PM
Hourly rate: $21-22/HR
Essential Functions:
- Works closely with the site Supervisor to monitor supply levels and submit purchasing recommendations on a regular basis of consumable materials.
- Works closely with the site Supervisor and Logistics Coordinator to ensure material locations and movements within rack-locations are recorded/coordinated.
- As first point of contact for inbound materials, the material handler must check that materials match packing lists and that packing lists are logged for receiving.
- Maintains inventory by identifying, labeling and placing materials and supplies in stock locations
- Maintain inventory locations within SAP for stocked materials. (bin to bin transfers, scrapping etc)
- Move and disposes of scrap material properly while being in compliance with warehouse safety regulations
- Accountable for adherence to company policies including safety and the use of personnel protective equipment
- · Maintain rack locations in a clean an orderly condition; following all safety policies and procedures including CertainTeed practices to meet company standards
- Keeps the flow of the materials moving as needed for production, inventory, and shipping.
- Ensures production floor is safe by inspecting and correcting any unsafe conditions
- Issue material on production orders within SAP
- Move material from staging areas into stock locations
- Perform cycle counting when necessary
- Load/unload trucks as needed
- Maintain the rear yard where pallets are stored
- Performs other related duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED
- One to three years of experience in manufacturing, production of warehouse and distribution
- Familiar with safety standards for manufacturing environment, including OSHA regulations
- Familiar with SAP (S4 Hanna) system
- Must be flexible and the ability to adopt to changes in the work place
- Disposes of used oils, and recycle used cardboard
- Forklift operator certificate
- Capable of reading and reviewing pick slips and production orders
- Forklift Certification
- License and certification to operate heavy machinery
