Expectations/Desired Skills
We seek a candidate with a minimum of 3 years of experience in purchasing functions, managing daily activities to include day to day project purchases; managing contracts including administering, negotiating, reviewing, renewing, filing and evaluating for availability, price, terms, and quality products. Ideally the candidate has deep literacy and experience working with water/wastewater equipment products, so that he or she will understand RFPs, plan drawings and submittals, and select the right equipment and instruments. The candidate will assist Project Managers and Procurement Manager with costs and delivery of the projects.
Experiences:
The ideal candidate should have experiences as a buyer in the wastewater treatment business.
Responsibilities
In this role, our new Procurement Specialist/Buyer will focus on project purchasing and management with an emphasis on municipal or industrial wastewater system supply projects.
● Demonstrates effective communication and problem-solving skills.
● Support Project Management Team and Procurement Manager with QCD (quality, cost and delivery) of projects and assisting to maximize the quality of the system and profit of the project.
● Negotiate or renegotiate and administer contracts with vendors.
● Review and maintain a good record of purchasing files and records (purchase orders, contracts, etc.) to ensure its compliance with company policies and procedures and ensure the availability of documentation.
● Collaborate with owners, consultants and contractors to make projects successful.
● Research and evaluate vendors/contracts to ensure it is in compliance with government regulations (e.g. vendor debarment and suspension regulation).
● Collaborate and negotiate with suppliers and issue purchase orders.
● Coordinate with the Accounting department and Project Managers regarding the invoices from vendors, follow up payments.
● Back up Procurement Manager to include ordering of supplies/goods, equipment and material, reviewing, and processing/issuing of purchase orders.
● Identify opportunities for cost savings.

● Evaluate vendors to ensure its performance is aligned with established specifications.
● Special projects and/or other duties as assigned by Procurement Manager, Project Managers and Controller.
● Travel is required, infrequently and occurring about 5%of the time depending on a Project.
Qualifications
● Degree qualified or equivalent in a business-related subject.
● Minimum 3 years previous experience in a Purchasing role.
● High competency level in use of Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, as a minimum)
● Valid Driving License required.
● Experience of working with MRP systems is essential.
● Representing meetings and presenting Purchasing performance achievements
● Management and coordination of purchasing activities with relation to Cost, Delivery and Quality performance.
