What We Are Seeking
We are seeking a Senior Accountant for the Property & Casualty Insurance Agencies division. This is a unique opportunity to join a newly formed company with a family friendly culture that will help develop your talents into a meaningful career. The ideal candidate must be detail-oriented and possess a demonstrated ability to organize a multi-task workload. This is a brand-new role in a fast-paced environment so this person must be comfortable with learning new skills, systems, processes and procedures, and shift to new ways of thinking and doing as needed. While this position will support an agency in a specific region of the country, it is 100% remote.
Job Responsibilities
- Implement and maintain commission software.
- Responsible for all facets of the accounting function for a group of property & casualty insurance agencies.
- Complete Direct Bill and Agency Bill reconciliations.
- Pay all carrier, broker, and vendor invoices.
- Execute End of Day, End of Month, and End of Year Balance Sheet and Income Statements.
- Manage and reconcile bank accounts.
- Record journal entries from the corporate team.
- Post Commissions monthly from carrier websites and paper statements.
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting
- 3-5 years of experience in Property & Casualty insurance brokerage accounting
- 3-5 years of EPIC management system experience
