Hill Wallack LLP has an immediate opening for a litigation paralegal in our Princeton office. Candidate should have 2-4 years previous experience in civil litigation. Experience in employment law or construction and business litigation is a plus.
Essential functions and job duties include:
- Review and file documents
- Understand the role of electronically stored information (ESI) in the discovery process and be able to manage discovery involving ESI
- Identify relevant information, witnesses, third party documents and information to subpoena
- Prepare discovery, court papers and trial binders
- Prepare subpoenas, letters, public records request, and authorizations
- Work with preferred vendors for record retrieval, expert retention, depositions/court reporters, private investigators
- Schedule depositions, client meetings, and witness interviews
- Prepare discovery requests, responses, and summaries of the same
- Summarize various records (medical; employment; tax; educational; surveillance, etc.)
- Gather relevant documents for attorney’s use in upcoming depositions, meetings, telephone conferences, trial etc.
- WestlawNext research to retrieve cases, locate witnesses and obtain background information
- Ability to check a brief for proper case citations and quotations
- Social media research
- Bill and enter time
- Maintain and follow a diary system for compliance and meeting deadlines
Ideal candidate will possess excellent communication and writing skills; be familiar with outlook, word and other electronic platforms such as e-courts. Must have certification from accredited paralegal program or BA degree.
