Job Description: We are currently seeking a skilled Pipe Foreman with expertise in ductile iron and C900 pipe installation to join our team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in managing pipe installation projects, ensuring efficient workflow, and maintaining strict adherence to safety protocols. This position requires strong leadership skills, technical proficiency, and a commitment to delivering exceptional results.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee all aspects of both underground and aboveground process pipe within water/wastewater plant from start to completion. Must have foreman level knowledge of ductile iron and C900 pipe that is push connection or a mechanical joint.
- Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and subcontractors to ensure project milestones are met.
- Lead a crew of pipe installation specialists, providing guidance, training, and support as needed.
- Interpret blueprints, specifications, and construction plans to plan and execute pipe installation activities.
- Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and company policies, including competent person requirements for excavation and trenching.
- Conduct regular inspections of work sites to identify and address potential hazards or safety concerns.
- Monitor project progress, budget, and resource allocation to achieve project objectives.
- Maintain accurate records of materials, equipment usage, and testing reports.
- Collaborate with quality control inspectors to ensure work meets industry standards and owner’s expectations.
- Communicate effectively with project Superintendent and site inspector.
Requirements:
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in pipe installation, with a focus on ductile iron and C900 pipe.
- Demonstrated expertise in excavation and trenching, including certification as a competent person.
- Proven leadership ability with experience managing construction crews and subcontractors.
- Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and equipment.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Detail-oriented with a commitment to quality and safety.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
- OSHA 10-hour Construction Safety Certification required.
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional certifications or technical training a plus.
- Must be an active union member or willing to join Carpenter or Laborers union.
