Retail, Hospitality and Luxury Residential Experienced Interior Designer or Architect
Part Time / Contract can lead to Full Time if needed or desired
Overview:
We are seeking a talented and experienced designer to join our team. We are looking for a self-starter, who likes to take initiative and prefers to work in a collaborative environment. You will be responsible for designing, documenting and overseeing the construction and renovation of primarily interior architectural projects. Our diverse practice includes brand driven spaces in the restaurant, retail, and hotel market along with luxury residential projects that focus on full renovations and new construction.
Duties:
- Field verify and document existing spaces.
- Develop 3-D renderings utilizing Sketch Up or Revit to demonstrate the design of the overall project to clients.
- Develop and manage the architectural designs and plans for new construction projects, renovations, and additions
- Collaborate with clients and general contractor to understand the vision, requirements, and budget constraints
- Prepare detailed construction drawings and interior specifications.
- Ensure compliance with building codes, regulations, and zoning laws
- Collaborate with engineers and the Architect of Record as needed
- Provide guidance to construction teams during the building process
- Oversee project progress, resolve design issues, and ensure adherence to timelines
Skills:
- Minimum of 5+ years of related experience; experience in hospitality or luxury residential industry a plus.
- Strong project management and organizational skills with experience coordinating efforts of multiple external vendors, including manufacturers and tradespeople.
- Strong communication skills, ability to organize and prioritize work, take initiative, and collaborate or work independently as the projects require.
- Ability to lead and teach younger designers specifically related to Construction Drawings and on-site construction management.
- Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, and Sketch Up.
- Strong knowledge of local building practices and interior detailing and documentation.
- Ability to draft accurate and detailed drawings.
- Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with clients, engineers, and construction professionals
