Position Summary
The Senior Financial & Compliance Analyst is responsible, detail-oriented and can work independently and with the highest levels of integrity. This position will assist with the preparation of financial statements and managerial reporting, variance analysis, and forecasting. In addition, this position will perform a pivotal role working with management to develop, document, and implement financial procedures and operational controls.
Principal Activities
- Ensure completeness of the company’s accounting information by completion and review of monthly journal entries, identifying and resolving inaccuracies
- Lead status update meetings to drive action plans to comply with internal controls not being met
- Develop, recommend and create internal operational controls and procedures where necessary
- Provide support to management to ensure actions are sustainably embedded in daily activities. This may include activities like testing procedural accuracy, working with management to develop processes further, etc…
- Promote an environment of internal control and operational excellence
- Create and analyze reports for management including key metrics
- Prepare month end intercompany balancing report for corporate reporting and communicate with international units on variances
- Assist with recommendation, creation and maintenance of accounting policies and procedures
- Consistently drive a culture of compliance with management
- Assist in consolidation of global results utilizing TM1 reporting system
- Collaborate and assist in the yearly audit and tax return preparation
- Aid in the development and communication of the annual business plan
- Performs various projects and analysis as required on an ad hoc basis
Key Accountabilities
- Reporting and Analysis of Sales COS, variances, and other key metrics
- Documentation, testing, and review of internal controls
- Excess & Obsolete inventory reserve calculation & analysis
- Month-end close and reconciliation
- Monthly/Quarterly forecasts
- Ad-hoc analysis and projects
Candidate Qualifications, Skills & Experience
- Degree in accounting, finance or in a related field. Previous internal controls or public accounting experience a plus.
- 5 - 7 years previous experience as a financial analyst, senior staff accountant, or in a similar role.
- Strong account reconciliation and analysis skills required.
- Previous manufacturing experience a plus.
- Ability to demonstrate sound judgment, including maintaining highly confidential information.
- Be self-motivated, driven, flexible and adaptable to complete assigned tasks; results driven.
- Strong computer skills and knowledge of accounting software programs – MS Office, MS Dynamics a plus
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in a professional business environment verbally, electronically and written.
- Highly organized and detail oriented
Physical Requirements
Work location is onsite at our Cary facility. Must be able to participate in company paid visits to manufacturing and field locations, if needed.
