NURSE PRACTITIONER
Job Description
PURPOSE: To deliver supportive, quality gynecological and wellness services to clients at EGC in accordance with established clinic policies and protocols. Works in collaboration with supportive staff members to provide reproductive health care to women, men and gender diverse clients. Care provided is based on established protocols.
STATUS: Independent Contractor or PT Employee
15 - 20 hours of Direct Client Care
Reports to : Executive Director
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Understands and adheres to EGC gynecology and wellness service policies and protocols.
Participates in development and/or revision of new services protocol with appropriate staff.
Performs the following skills according to established Service protocols.
Collection and evaluation of health/medical history
Wellness physical assessment
Contraceptive counseling
Laboratory procedures
Teaching self-help skills including self-breast exam and self-cervical exam
Conduct client follow-up per protocols
Insertion and removal of LARCs
Diaphragm fittings
Manages common gynecological protocols.
Manages hormonal contraceptive users.
Provides health counseling/education, prevention of STD’s and guidance to patients and/or families.
Prescribes treatments and medications according to medical protocol.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
1. Possesses a current license to practice as an NP in Iowa.
2. Demonstrated ability to work within established medical protocols.
3. Demonstrated recognized clinical competence.
4. Adheres to protocols and policies relevant to all EGC employees.
5. Desire and commitment to work as a part of a team.
OTHER
Licensed Nurse Practitioner
2. Experience with transgender and non binary care, including the provision of hormone therapy is desireable.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $55.00 - $62.00 per hour
Expected hours: 15 – 22 per week
