About Hunt Alternatives
Since its founding in 1980 in Denver, CO, as a private family foundation, Hunt Alternatives (www.huntalternatives.org) has been experimenting with untried solutions to seemingly intractable problems. Paradoxically, that unchanging commitment has required a commitment to change, as political leadership, social norms, and a field evolve.
Looking ahead, the foundation has launched a new venture spanning Hunt Alternatives’ 44 years: embedding all or portions of our most successful initiatives inside other institutions--nonprofit, academic, philanthropic, governmental—not as actual partners, but in myriad other ways that will magnify our past multi-year and multi-million-dollar investments in each of our programs.
