United States Cancer Management Corporation’s South Sacramento Cancer Center (SSCC) is actively seeking an enthusiastic, outgoing, and articulate Front Office Medical Assistant to join the team in our two- physician radiation oncology department.
Candidates will be expected to be professional, organized, goal oriented, and self-motivated. You must have the ability to multitask, work with others, be reliable and teachable. Computer and writing skills are a must. Candidate will also work clinically to assist the nursing and therapy departments.
South Sacramento Cancer Center is a stand-alone, above-ground private cancer care center that provides state-of-the art external beam radiation therapy services including IMRT, IGRT, SBRT and conventional 3D planning. We treat on average 50 patients per day in this two- physician practice. Progressive interior décor and floor-to-ceiling windows complete the interior of SSCC.
The position is located in Northern California in the Capitol of California nestled between the Napa Valley Wine Country and the Sierras. South Sacramento is located 30 miles from Napa Valley, 75 miles from San Francisco as well as being less than an hour’s drive of the Sierra Nevada mountains for skiing and summer sports. With affordable housing near the Sacramento Area, it makes for ideal living conditions.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Front Office Responsibilities:
- Schedules appointments, performs clinical tasks and completes appropriate forms as required by department.
- Performs computer data entry functions. Performs clinical/technical skills specific to the department. Performs other related duties as necessary.
- Team Commitment: Is an effective team member who is flexible, cooperative, and willing to assist others.
- Excellent time management skills and ability to multi-task and prioritize work
- Checking in patients for their appointment
- Answer calls, check voicemails and return patient calls
- Check faxes and distribute to providers and staff accordingly
- Receive and schedule incoming referrals
- Communicate with insurance companies to verify insurance, and submit for pre authorizations
- Verify insurance through EMR days prior to appointment
- Upload/Scan medical documentation into patients’ chart
- Ensure that all appropriate tests, clinical information, and order entries are ready for provider review prior to office visit
Back Office Responsibilities:
Document patient vital signs such as height, weight, temperature, blood pressure, pulse, and respiration and chief complaint for visit in EHR and report to the Provider any acute findings requiring immediate interventions
Hours: 8:30am - 5pm Mon-Fri
