Full Job Description
The Medication Clinic Coordinator works under close and general supervision and according to established procedures in order to perform routine clerical and administrative duties in support of the management, staff, and/or operations in a correctional setting.
Essential Duties:
Performing routine clerical processing of documents and transactions according to prescribed procedures
Preparing appointments appropriately with usual supplies, including forms, chairs, and desks
Filling out information on medication clinic forms as directed
Ensuring that the flow of patients is efficient
Coordinating the scheduling and notification of patients and security staff to ensure that patients are available when clinic staff are available to see them
Ensuring required labs are up to date, completed and documented and that results are available to clinicians
Maintaining record-keeping for reference manuals/materials
Coordinating with the Mental Health Unit Manager, who has overall responsibility for the services delivered in the Medication Clinic, and the Health Services Administrator (HSA) to ensure that counselors, security staff, and nurses are working and contributing to the clinic effectively and efficiently
Collaborating with physicians, nurses, security staff, counselors, and their respective supervisors to assist in triaging who is to be seen in the clinic, which may involve providing direct services to the patient
High school diploma or GED equivalent required
Minimum of one (1) year of secretarial experience within a medical office required
Must show/obtain current Purified Protein Derivative (PPD) documentation for tuberculosis screening
Must be appropriately and actively certified in Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
Proficiency with Microsoft Office and scheduling
Must be able to pass a background investigation to obtain security clearance
