Title: Front Office Lead/Medical Assistant
Reports To: Clinic Manager
Supervision Exercised: Patient Service Representatives in the Medical and Dental office in Moravia in conjunction with Clinic Manager.
Typical Working Conditions: Position is performed primarily in an office setting. Potential exposure to communicable diseases, medicinal preparations and other conditions common to a clinic environment. Some travel required.
Qualifications: Minimum 2 years of experience as a Patient Service Representative (PSR) with demonstrated leadership and organizational skills. Medical Assistant experience preferred. Associate Degree preferred.
Primary Function: The purpose of this position is to supervise and coordinate all aspects of the Front Office in conjunction with the site lead, including the work of the PSRs. Additionally, this position will act as a Medical Assistant, rooming patients, providing direct patient care and all duties required as such.
General Summary of Duties:
· In conjunction with the Clinic Manager and the Chief Human Resource Officer, recruit, interview and hire front office staff.
· Orient new front office staff to administrative policies, procedures and job responsibilities. Help coordinate on-going training for front office staff.
· Develop effective and efficient front office staffing schedules that are sensitive to productivity, clinic flow and patient and staff requirements.
· Arrange coverage for staff due to absences. Coordinate approval of overtime with the Chief Operating Officer. Coordinate approval of use of vacation with the Clinic Manager and Chief Operating Officer.
· With the Clinic Manager, conduct performance evaluations for front office staff.
· Ensure accuracy of all patient accounts by monitoring registration activities and charge posting.
· Ensure maximum revenue generation by monitoring all patient collections to ensure that money due FHN is collected if at all possible at the time of visit.
· Ensure that administrative/billing policies and procedures are followed.
· Attends management meetings as requested by Clinic Manager.
· Assist patients in patient flow through the clinic.
· Prepares exam rooms and instruments for examination and testing. Delivers test and obtain results.
· Labels and maintains proper storage for specimens and tests. Delivers test and obtain results.
· Takes telephone messages as directed; screens calls for referral to nurse of provider.
· Does required controls on in-house laboratory tests in accordance with CLIA.
· This position requires compliance with Health Center’s written standards, including its Standards of Conduct and policies and procedures pertaining to all operational aspects, furthermore this position is required to report any suspected instances of noncompliance.
· Maintains strictest confidentiality at all times.
· Other duties as assigned.
· This position will function as a contributing member of the FHN Dramatic Performance Improvement Model of Care to ensure that FHN’s Team-Based Care is the most sustainable, efficient method for providing high-quality, satisfying, and equitable health care to our patient population.

Pay: $16.50 - $18.00 per hour
