Looking for a Mid-Level Environmental Scientist/Geologist/Engineer
This position involves working with project managers to support oil and gas remediation, regulatory compliance projects and site evaluations. This position will also include site assessment, field sampling and data review, along with environmental report writing and assisting project management and senior engineers with various tasks on an as needed basis.
It is anticipated that this role will consist of a mix of field and office-based work and will require knowledge of environmental remediation, engineering, and geology. Experience in hydrocarbon remediation and oil and gas is preferred.
This role will require strict adherence to deadlines, therefore strong time management and communication skills are needed. This position will also include mentoring of junior staff.
Position Responsibilities:
- Collection of groundwater and soil samples, field documentation, and GPS data collection.
- Laboratory analytical data interpretation,
- Prepare environmental data reports summarizing analytical results and field observations and regulatory forms,
- Oversee advancement of site assessment soil and rock borings including logging subsurface characteristics,
- Oversee installation of groundwater monitoring and remediation wells,
- Oversee remedial soil excavation projects,
- Assist with development of technical reports while working with senior professional staff on multiple projects mixed between the office and field.
Supervisory Responsibility
This position is responsible for overseeing field and reporting activities, scheduling, and ensuring deadlines are met to maintain client regulatory compliance. This position will require interfacing directly with junior staff in supervisory settings as well as with project managers to facilitate tasks. While working in a reporting office setting, this role requires adept MS Suite experience and acute attention to detail. While working in a field environment, the employee will need to abide by company and client H&S policies while performing field data collection in all seasonal conditions.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position and standard hours of work and days are Monday through Friday. Exact start and end time to workdays is dependent on specific job requirements. This position will rarely require overnight travel.
Required Education & Experience
- 4+ Years in geology, engineering, or scientific field related to the environmental or oil and gas industry.
- Bachelor's Degree in related field.
- Experience as a Geologist, Engineer or Scientist in the Environmental industry.
- Strong technical writing skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Strong time management skills.
- Must possess strong communication ability with peers, management, and clients.
- Experience working with State Regulations and related entities.

Pay: $34.00 - $40.00 per hour
