Job Summary
This position will leverage accounting principles to record financial information and prepare financial statements (including investment planning, tax filings, monthly/quarterly/annual reports), and assists with month-end closing, annual planning, and audits.
Key Tasks and Responsibilities
Fixed Asset Management:
- Develop and track investment plans for fixed assets, ensuring alignment with actual purchases/projects.
- Assign asset numbers as requested and maintain accurate asset files.
- Reconcile and capitalize assets upon project completion.
- Manage annual property tax filings.
- Leased asset management (ROU): Set up and maintain leased assets within the SAP Fixed Asset system.
Financial Reporting & Analysis:
- Analyze actual expenses against budget and generate reports for management distribution.
- Prepare quarterly tax filings (OH CAT tax, CA sales tax, etc.)
- Assist with the annual preparation of financial information for the CAD tax return.
- Prepare journal entries as needed.
Other Duties:
- Complete OTRIS training for document filing.
- Provide backup support for AR cash posting.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Skills and Abilities
- Cost Analysis: Experienced in inventory product costing, margin calculation, and standard costing systems.
- Manufacturing Costing: Possesses a strong understanding of manufacturing costs (variable and fixed), Bill of Materials (BOM), and production efficiencies.
- Asset Lifecycle Management: Demonstrated understanding and experience with annual budgeting process, purchasing procedures, and asset management.
- Work Style: Independent worker, combining intelligence, experience, and self-confidence to excel with minimal supervision.
- Results-Oriented: Meets deadlines and expectations on all projects.
- Continuous improvement: Maintain a process optimization mindset.
Experience and Education
- At least 5 years of experience in the Accounting Department of a manufacturing company.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a higher degree preferred.
- Knowledge of GAAP and IFRS accounting standards (preferred)
- SAP experience (FI, CO, COPA modules) and proficiency in MS Excel and BW Reporting (preferred
