As the Assistant General Manager of the Travel Plaza, you'll be a key player in ensuring the smooth daily operations and overall success of our establishment. With a focus on operational excellence, you'll assist in managing inventory, overseeing the fueling station, and implementing company policies. Your leadership will extend to fostering exceptional customer service, addressing inquiries promptly, and creating a welcoming atmosphere for patrons. Managing a dedicated team, you'll provide guidance, training, and effective scheduling to maintain optimal service levels. Financial acumen is essential as you assist in budgeting, monitor sales performance, and handle cash transactions accurately.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the day-to-day operations, including managing inventory, overseeing fueling station activities, and ensuring compliance with safety and hygiene standards.
- Collaborate with the General Manager to implement and enforce company policies and procedures.
- Foster a customer-centric environment by ensuring a positive and welcoming experience for patrons.
- Address customer inquiries and concerns promptly, striving for customer satisfaction.
- Supervise and lead a team of employees, providing guidance, training, and support.
- Schedule staff effectively to meet operational needs and maintain optimal service levels.
- Assist in budgeting and financial planning, monitoring sales performance, and implementing cost control measures.
- Handle cash management and transactions accurately.
- Uphold safety protocols and ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
- Conduct regular inspections to maintain a safe and secure environment for employees and customers.
- Assist in completion of daily reporting and reconciliations; investigate and resolve any cash variances, product or fuel discrepancies, invoices issues, etc.
- Understand and enforce all relevant regulatory requirements and procedures; complete required inspections and maintain all required paperwork.
- Evaluate, identify, and recommend process improvement changes for a dynamic operational environment.
- Maintain company standards of safety and security.
- May be required to perform other duties as required.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a leadership role within the gas station/convenience store industry.
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Knowledge of inventory management, financial reporting, and basic accounting.
- Familiarity with POS systems and technology used in the industry.
- Ability to safely lift to 50 pounds and bend, stand or sit for long periods of time.
- Current driver’s license with clean driving record, ability to be insured.
- Ability to work a varied schedule as needed, including evenings, weekends, holidays, and on-call.

Pay: $50,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
