Open Water Counseling and Recovery is searching for a qualified individual to perform the role of mental health counselor. The individual will have current, master's level licensure in the state of Ohio. The primary purpose of this role is the provision of outpatient therapy services. The provider has experience and skills in the diagnosis and treatment of mental disorders. The individual will provide evidence-based therapy, be a self-starter and self-motivated. Training available to assist in the dispensation of evidence-based techniques. Supervision for LPC/LSW provided on-site. Job Description
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Conduct regular appointments with clients in multiple places of service which could include: community mental health office, nursing homes, community programs, etc.
- Establish positive and trusting relationships with clients
- Implement evidenced-based treatments and protocols to provide guidance and appropriately address client situations
- Maintain all required licenses and the appropriate insurance
- Establishes positive, trusting rapport with clients.
- Diagnoses and treats mental health disorders.
- Creates individualized treatment plans according to client needs and circumstances.
- Meets with clients regularly to provide counseling, treatment and adjust treatment plans as necessary.
- Conducts ongoing assessments of patient progress.
- Involves and advises family members when appropriate.
- Refers client to outside specialists or agencies when necessary.
- Maintains thorough and timely records of patient meetings and progress.
- Follows all safety protocols and maintains client confidentiality.
- Contributes to practice by accomplishing related tasks as needed.
- Maintain caseload and visit frequency established at first session.
- Works as part of interdisciplinary team and seeks consultation when needed.
- Reports directly to the Clinical Director.
Requirements and Qualifications:
- Minimum of a Master’s degree in social work, counseling or a related field
- Meet all necessary state licensure requirements
- Excellent interpersonal communication skills with the ability to actively listen
- Solid relationship-building capabilities
- A positive and compassionate attitude
- Keen attention to detail
- Ability to effectively manage time and prioritize needs
- Willingness to stay updated on new treatments, protocols, and licensure requirements within the field
- Passion for advancing the therapy field
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team

Pay: $27.00 - $40.00 per hour
