Uchi / Uchiba Dallas is hiring experienced Sushi Chefs. The ideal candidate will have 2 or more years of experience in a high volume, guest-facing Sushi Chef role and knowledge of Japanese cuisine and cooking technique, along with fish fabrication. You will serve as a vital member of our team to enrich the culinary and service experience for our guests. Upon completion of training, Sushi Chefs will earn a base wage of $25-30 per hour (base pay of $11-$14/hr plus tips), depending on experience and rate of progression within our company.
What you'll do in this role:
- Acquaint yourself with our menu, current specials, and Japanese cuisine
- Learn and refine your sushi techniques under the guidance of our skilled Chef teams
- Understand proper handling and waste reduction of products, ingrediants, and equipment
- Learn to Interact with guests at the sushi bar; take orders, explain dishes, and cultivate an amazing experience for yourself and the guest
- Learn our various sushi stations and progress as your knowledge and skills grows
- Collaborate with our teams to create dishes that will be showcased on our specials page and core menu

Basic Qualifications:
- Must be able to effectively communicate with guests and other employees
- Detect and identify safety issues, and comply with safety guidelines and standards
- Lift and carry trays, dishes, equipment and goods up to 50 lbs, stock inventory and perform restocking duties
- Must have the ability to stand and walk for extended periods
- Bend, stoop and reach to access various areas and items

- Ability to work in a variety of temperatures, both hot and cold
