Position: News Reporter
Job Description:
Louisiana Radio Network is looking for a reporter/anchor to assist in providing news to our radio affiliates around the state. We produce hourly newscasts, interview newsmakers, report on the happenings at the state capitol and with state government. We cover all news stories that matter to Louisiana. Having knowledge of the LSU Tigers, Saints, Pelicans and other sports happening in the state is also important. Pay is based on experience.

Louisiana Radio Network has been providing radio news to Louisiana radio stations for 50 years. Some of our big affiliates include WWL Radio in New Orleans, KMLB in Monroe, KPEL in Lafayette. Our news, sports and ag broadcasts can be heard in every metro area of the state and on many rural stations.

Essential Functions:
- Report on news events, current events, and planned events.
- Write and edit news stories, including interviews.
- Research and verify information.
- Write copy for the LRN website and social media accounts
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in journalism or related field preferred.
- Experience working in a fast-paced environment with deadlines to meet.
- Must be detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
- Must be able to work both independently and as part of a team. Must also have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $15.00 - $25.00 per hour
Expected hours: 20 – 40 per week
