Position Summary
Management of the entire supply chain process, including materials planning, inventory management, warehousing, shipping and customer delivery support. Extensive Metals buying experience necessary.
Responsibilities
· Manage department personnel activities related to forecasting materials, material planning, buying, procurement, receipt, storage, and inventory control.
· Provide support to production scheduling on all material flow issues to meet production schedules and customer requirements.
· Negotiate with material vendors on sourcing, pricing, and material availability.
· Provide guidance and direction to the Production Scheduler/Planner on the planning and forecasting of customer orders to meet shipments.
· Partner with Sales to ensure accuracy during the quotation and procurement phase.
· Adjust orders and deliveries as needed to minimize excess inventory.
· Expedite orders as necessary while taking steps to prevent the need for future expeditions.
· Forecast price and market trends to identify changes of balance in buyer-supplier power.
· Using scorecard metrics, establish guidelines on which suppliers to consider for high-quality goods, fair price, good service, and on time delivery.
· Monitor upcoming open orders to ensure on-time delivery.

Education & Qualifications
· Bachelors degree in Engineering, Procurement or Business.
· 5- 7 (Five to seven) years applicable work experience in materials and/or manufacturing scheduling, preferably in stamping, automotive or other high volume environments
· APICS certification desirable.
· Six Sigma Green / Black Belt desirable.
· Experience managing MRP/ERP systems, Epicor experience preferred.
· Knowledge of plant wide manufacturing constraints and good manufacturing practices.
