Diesel Mechanic for Heavy Duty Trucks

We are currently seeking a skilled Heavy Duty Truck Mechanic to join our dedicated team and ensure the reliability and performance of our vehicles. This is an afternoon shift position.
JOB DESCRIPTION:
A Diesel Mechanic for Heavy Duty Trucks performs duties relating to diesel vehicle and equipment repair. Responsible for the maintenance and repair of heavy-duty vehicles through preventative maintenance, diagnostic troubleshooting, and needed repairs at high levels of quality. Knowledgeable in the operation and use of testing equipment, specialty tools, reading measuring devices, and use of shop equipment.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Maintain a safe and clean work environment.
- Preventive Maintenance tasks.
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on diesel engines and vehicles
- Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical issues
- Repair or replace faulty parts and components
- Conduct inspections to ensure compliance with safety standards
- Keep accurate records of all maintenance and repairs performed
- Perform tire services, including mounting, balancing, and rotation
- All other duties as assigned.
Diesel Mechanic Qualifications and Requirements:
- 5+ years of mechanic experience.
- Must have a Class B or higher CDL
- Must have a valid driver's license.
- Proven experience as a Diesel Mechanic or similar role
- Strong knowledge of diesel engines and vehicle systems
- Proficiency in welding and soldering techniques
- Ability to lift heavy objects and perform physical tasks
- Excellent problem-solving skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Must be computer literate and able to perform basic software functions
- Must be organized.
- Must pass pre-employment drug screen, we are a drug-free company.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $25.37 - $27.55 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
