JOB SUMMARY
The Primary Therapist will be responsible for providing individual and group therapy to clients, conducting assessments, developing treatment plans, and collaboratively creating discharge/aftercare. This role requires excellent clinical skills, strong communication abilities, and a commitment to providing high-quality behavioral health services to our clients.
This is a mid-shift position 12:00 pm-8:30 pm Monday-Friday.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
o Master’s degree in counseling, Psychology or Social Work
o Holds a registered associates of license number that is in good standing with their governing board.
o Computer competence (Microsoft Word, Excel).
o Understanding of the 12 Steps if working with primary SUD clients.
o 2 years sobriety if personally represented as “recovering”.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
o 2+ years’ experience in the field of alcohol and/or other drug services and/or mental health.
o Experience working with Kipu.
REQUIRED LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS
Valid Registered Associates or License number with the Board of Behavioral Sciences (BBS).
DUTIES & ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Individual and Group Therapy:
· Meets assigned clients weekly for individual sessions and completes all necessary documentation.
· Facilitates group therapy sessions as scheduled, collaborating with the Program Director for curriculum development.
Treatment Planning and Assessment:
· Completes treatment plans within 7 days of admission and updates weekly to reflect client progress and accuracy.
· Conducts ASAM/BPS and other necessary assessments including suicide risk protocol during intakes and when needed for clients at-risk.
Clinical Documentation:
· Meets expectations of same-day clinical documentation for all sessions conducted.
· Completes UR clinical reviews for continued insurance coverage the day prior to next authorization call.
· Oversees documentation in the clinical section of each client chart and conducts quality assurance for deficiencies.
· Facilitates comprehensive evaluations, diagnostic summaries, and multidisciplinary treatment planning for assigned clients.
Interdisciplinary Collaboration:
· Attends and participates in weekly clinical team meetings.
· Maintains regular communication with counselors to coordinate client care.
· Assists counselor in collaborating with outside providers when necessary.
· Facilitates monthly family therapy sessions as specified in individual client treatment plans. *Teen Program specific
Professional Development:
· Participates in in-service training, individual/group supervision meetings, and counselor/staff interface meetings.
· Completes all required company trainings through Relias and other scheduled events.
· Stays up to date on all continuing education needs for licensure.
OTHER FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
· Perform other duties as assigned by the Clinical Director and Program Director.
· Represent Program positively in all scenarios perceived as marketing opportunities.
EXCLUSIONARY CRITERIA
o No registered sex offenders
o No criminal record of serious assault or felonies (for any felonies and charges, if more than 5 years have passed since charges were filed senior staff will determine if an exception can be made. For any exceptions made, two additional references will be required.)
o No one with a suspended license
o If in recovery, must have a minimum of two years of sobriety.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $60,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
