General Summary:
Supervising the unloading of shipping containers and trailers for warehouse storage. Having receivers accurately separating cases and placing them on pallets for all inbound freight. Driving teams and individuals to ensure that all products are free of damage and prepped to a high standard for storage and shipping. The ability to operate powered industrial trucks to unload materials and deliveries and move them to and from storage areas, machines and loading docks, into storage facilities. Making sure that the receiving department's automation system stays up and running. (Knowledge of automation systems a plus). Oversee all receiving documentation is filled out properly. Lead will be responsible for ensuring that all sanitation and safety needs and requirements are meet for shift.
Skills and Knowledge:
- Mechanical aptitude
- Attention to detail on prepping freight for storage
- Good math, language and reading skills
- Basic computer skills may be required
- High degree of attention required to prevent injury to others; promote a safe work environment
- Follow instructions for operating equipment and keeping records
- Execute assignments in an accurate, timely and safe manner
- Maintain a clean & safe environment
Experience/Certification:
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- Minimum 1-2 years' experience
- Previous experience with material handling automation in an automated warehouse a plus
- Forklift certification per OSHA standards a plus
Physical Requirements/Working Conditions:
- Continuous walking, climbing and standing
- Lifting, pulling and pushing up to 50 pounds
- Ability to work at heights of 90 feet
- Ability to adapt to temperature changes in a warehouse environment
Shifts:
- Flexibility to work shifts as assigned including weekends
- Ability to work overtime as needed
