The American Trade Group is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Human Resources Generalist to join our team. As an HR Generalist, you will play a crucial role in supporting HR functions and ensuring the smooth operation of various HR initiatives. This is a dynamic position that requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously. The successful candidate will assist with recruiting, scheduling, training tasks, benefits and compensation, and act as liaison between the department and other employees. Objectives of this role
- Provide administrative support to the entire HR department
- Serve as a reliable source of information for employees regarding benefits, policies, and procedures
- Recruit and hire strong candidates who will positively impact our company, and coordinate the training they need to succeed in their roles
- Review and recommend policies and procedures that enhance the workplace environment
Responsibilities
- Administer employee benefit programs
- Prepare benefit/insurance-related reports, records, and audits as necessary
- Compile and process employee documentation and records, and keep the employee database up to date
- Assist with formulating policies, procedures, and changes, as well as communicating all updates to employees
- Manage employee recognition and rewards programs
- Track employee attendance, PTO, and leaves of absence
- Train managers and employees on HR processes such as annual performance appraisal, leave of absence, recruitment, employee handbook changes, and employee lifecycle changes.
- Facilitate employee change process in HR systems for changes in employee job titles, salary changes, and organization changes.
Skills and qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or a related field
- 3+ years of verifiable experience in an HR Generalist role
- Knowledgeable in all areas of Human Resources, employment, employee policies and procedures, employee records, leave of absences, benefits, compensation, and employee relations.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Strong attention to detail
- Demonstrated experience applying and interpreting human resources policies and procedures.
- Enthusiasm for working within a team environment
- Tact and professionalism in handling confidential information and addressing employee concerns
- Proficiency with technology, and the ability to learn new software quickly and efficiently
- PHR or SHRM CP certification
- Knowledge of and full understanding of Federal and State employment laws
Preferred qualifications
- Familiarity with company’s current HRIS system, BambooHR or similar software
- Demonstrated strategic planning capabilities

Pay: $60,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
