Job Overview:
We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Direct Care Workers/Caregivers to join our growing team with the mission to provide personalized assistance to individuals in need of support with daily activities. As a direct care worker/caregiver, you will play a vital role in enhancing the quality of life for our clients by promoting independence, dignity, and well-being. Your responsibilities will include assisting with personal care tasks, providing companionship, and ensuring a safe and comfortable environment for our clients.
Responsibilities:
- Assist clients with activities of daily living, including bathing, grooming, dressing, and toileting.
- Administer medication reminders to clients per their prescribed medication schedule.
- Provide companionship and emotional support by engaging in meaningful conversations, recreational activities, and social outings.
- Prepare and serve meals and assist with feeding if necessary.
- Perform light housekeeping tasks such as tidying up living spaces, laundry, and maintaining a clean environment.
- Accompany and/or drive clients to medical appointments, errands, and outings as needed.
- Monitor and report changes in clients' health, behavior, or condition to the appropriate healthcare professionals.
- Maintain documentation of care provided and any significant observations or incidents.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures to ensure the well-being of clients and yourself.
- Participate in ongoing training and professional development opportunities to enhance caregiving skills and knowledge.
Experience & Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent. Previous experience in assisted living, caregiving, senior care, home care, childcare, or social work is preferred
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build trust and rapport with clients and their families.
- Strong organizational and time management skills to prioritize tasks effectively.
- Ability to handle sensitive situations with empathy, patience, and professionalism.
- Reliable transportation and a valid driver's license (if applicable).
- Ability to pass a background check and drug screening.
- Physical ability to lift and move clients safely and perform tasks related to personal care.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays, based on the needs of our clients.
- Basic knowledge of meal preparation techniques
- Reliable transportation to and from client's home. Drivers License preferred but not required.
