SUMMARY OF POSITION: This position is established to serve as part of a team of support for individuals enrolled in the behavioral health system. This position requires assuming responsibility for the case management and counseling all clients and particularly assigned clients, facilitating therapeutic and specialty group sessions, didactic lectures, and assisting in transportation of clients to and from appointments, when required. A thorough knowledge of chemical dependency, both alcoholism and other mind altering drug addictions, and gender-specific issues is necessary.
Must demonstrate the skills and knowledge necessary to perform duties necessary to assist clients in accessing community resources; and provide treatment that promotes client dignity, independence, individuality, strengths, privacy, and choice; recognize obvious symptoms of any mental disorders, personality disorder, or substance abuse; protect and maintain the confidentiality of client information and record and document client information; recognize and respect cultural differences.
Ability to recognize, prevent, and respond to a situation in which a client may be a danger to self or a danger to others or behaves in an aggressive or destructive manner; is experiencing a crisis situation, or an medical emergency. Must demonstrate ethical behavior by respecting staff member and client boundaries and recognizing the inappropriateness of receiving gratuities from a client. Ability to identify types of medications commonly prescribed for mental disorders, personality disorders, and substance abuse and the common side effects and adverse reactions of the medications. Able to recognize and respond to a fire, disaster, hazard, and medical emergency. Emphasis on achieving functional outcomes;

RESPONSIBILITIES:
§ Responsible for intake and physical orientation of consumer, to determine consumer’s eligibility
§ Responsible for in-depth treatment assessment (under the supervision of the Clinical Supervisor), individual treatment plan (under the supervision of Clinical Supervisor), intensive one-to-one counseling, and specialized group therapy
§ Provide culturally sensitive therapy modalities through existing services, outside referral, or development of new services
§ Maintain an accurate consumer progress on file on each consumer, including all necessary treatment documents, notes, and other pertinent documentation
§ Assist in discharge planning and aftercare service for consumers, prior to completion
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
§ Master’s Degree in a field related to Behavioral Health
QUALIFICATIONS:
§ Must understand the dynamics of substance abuse and family counseling and demonstrate the ability to integrate this knowledge to effectively counsel
§ Ability to accurately document clinical services and/or inventions in a timely manner
§ Must be familiar with community resources for referral purposes
§ Current TB test and physical examination documenting the ability to perform all required job duties
§ Must be drug and alcohol free
§ Must possess ability to monitor and facilitate the delivery of community-based integrated services from diverse providers
§ Must be energetic, flexible, creative, innovative individual who can develop strengths-based, family-centered support plans
§ Communication skills both verbally and in writing also required
§ Strong leadership and group facilitation skills required

Pay: $18.00 - $23.00 per hour
