KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Knowledge of processes & equipment to be utilized, production operations & quality control procedures
Knowledge of airline specifications helpful
Experience in broiling, batch cooking, sautéing, poaching, baking, frying and blanching
Ability to use knives, gas range, broiler, oven deep fryer, tilt skillet, slicer & related industrial cooking equipment
Experience with properly logging all necessary information within the kitchen as required by audits / safety
Ability to comprehend & create menu specifications
Ability to effectively communicate with internal / external customers & co-workers
PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES
· Ensure compliance with quality standards, FDA, HACCP & other regulations
· Ensure quality control to support the team for a smooth & efficient operation
· Follow recipes to exact specifications
· Responsible for cooking & packing the proper quantity and quality of meals according to airline specifications
· Prepare quality meals for employee cafeteria
· Inventories & maintains proper quality & quantity of food to meet established requirements and daily meal counts
· Minimize production disruptions & resolve or report problems, inconsistencies or break downs
QUALIFICATIONS; EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
· 1+ year production cook experience preferred
· Basic math skills
· Must demonstrate ability to communicate in English, both oral and written
· Must have ability to work professional & effectively under pressure – handle disruptions easily
· Must be team orientated
· Efficient & effective work habits, attention to detail, reasoning abilities & organized
· Ability to follow safety & company procedures
· Must have a flexible schedule
· Ability to work in varying / extreme temperatures
· Be able to life 50+ pounds occasionally, 20+ pounds frequently & 10+ pounds constantly. Bend / stoop repeatedly. Stand for 8-12 hours a day.
