Job Overview: We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Dental Hygienist to join our team. As a Dental Hygienist, you will play a crucial role in providing excellent oral healthcare to our patients. Your primary responsibilities will include performing dental cleanings, educating patients on oral hygiene practices, and assisting the dentist during procedures. Responsibilities: - Perform thorough dental cleanings, including scaling, root planing, and polishing - Conduct patient assessments, including taking vital signs and updating medical history - Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques and provide personalized recommendations for at-home care - Assist the dentist during procedures by preparing the treatment area and providing necessary instruments - Take dental x-rays and develop them for diagnostic purposes - Administer local anesthesia or nitrous oxide as directed by the dentist - Maintain accurate patient records and ensure compliance with all legal and ethical standards - Follow strict infection control protocols to ensure the safety of patients and staff Qualifications: - Valid state dental hygiene license - Associate's degree in Dental Hygiene (Bachelor's degree preferred) - Strong knowledge of dental anatomy, oral health conditions, and treatment options - Proficiency in dental office software systems such as CAD, Eaglesoft, or Dentrix - Excellent communication skills with the ability to educate and engage patients of all ages - Experience working with pediatric patients is a plus - Familiarity with medical coding for insurance billing purposes is preferred - Previous experience as a dental assistant is a plus We offer competitive compensation based on experience and qualifications.
