Job purpose
Hoguet Newman Regal & Kenney, LLP is seeking an experienced Junior Paralegal to assist the firm’s attorneys and Paralegal during all stages of the litigation process. The ideal candidate has 2-3 years of experience at a litigation law firm and will be responsible for drafting legal forms and documents, maintaining files, attorney scheduling, case management, and other administrative duties. Candidates must be able to work in a team-oriented, fast-paced and learning environment. This position and experience required does not involve client intake or client recruitment.
Duties and responsibilities
•Highly organized and detail oriented.
•Prepare correspondence, reports, and other complex documents.
•Prepare, serve, and file legal documents under instruction of attorneys via court electronic filing systems.
•Perform internet research.
•Ability to juggle multiple activities and work under pressure with strict timelines.
•Assist with trials.
•Familiarity with The Bluebook, legal cite checking briefs, letters, etc.
•High level of contact with clients, courts, and adversaries.
•Administrative duties include coordinating meetings, calendaring, making travel arrangements, backup reception coverage, etc.
Qualifications
•Bachelor’s Degree.
•Proven experience, with a minimum of two (2) years’ experience at a litigation law firm and demonstrates understanding of the litigation process.
•Experience as a Paralegal on trials, arbitrations, etc.
•A basic understanding of legal citations using The Bluebook and online court filing systems.
•Proficient using Microsoft Office; especially Outlook, Word & Excel.
•Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
•Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
•Ability to learn in a fast-paced environment.
•A positive, “team player” attitude.
Working conditions
•9:30am-5:30pm, Monday-Friday; hybrid.
•There is occasional overtime, as needed (sometimes without notice), including evenings and weekends, compensated.
Salary and benefits
•A salary of $50,000-$65,000 a year.

Physical requirements
•This is a largely sedentary role; regularly sitting at a computer station and operating electronic equipment; however, some filing may be required. This would require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets and bend or stand as necessary.

Pay: $50,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
