The Great Southern Box Food Hall and Bar, a newly developed Food Hall, consisting of 11 food vendors and a large multi-station bar is seeking a Bar Lead.
The Great Southern Food Hall and Bar is Orlando's highly anticipated culinary collective opening in Spring 2024. The 22,000 SF dining destination and bar will feature a collection of 11 artisan concepts from across the globe, curated by award-winning chef and restaurateur, Akhtar Nawab. The Southern Box is a destination focused around community, providing a stage for chef-driven concepts to showcase a curated experience enriched by diverse food, culture and entertainment.
At The Southern Box , the Bar Lead will be responsible for upholding the company standards and practices at the beverage outlets.
The Bar Leads' primary responsibility is supporting the General Manager and Assistant General Manager in day-to-day operations of the bar within the Food Hall. This includes conveying culture to his/her team and Customers; as well as being a creative team player who likes to work hard, have fun and show sincere dedication to the project. He/she will be responsible for upholding HHQ standards for their coworkers and Customer experience. He/she will be responsible for leading shifts as well as providing support in financial management, bar and facilities maintenance, beverage quality and company initiatives. This person will be a full-time bartender earning tips in addition to their hourly rate of pay.
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for food and beverage quality at all beverage outlets
- Responsible for test, presentation and hygiene standards
- Support the GM/AGM in managing bar, labor and direct costs to increase profitability and achieve financial goals
- Assists in monthly inventory counts and ensures weekly vendor orders are made and properly received
- Assist General Manager in maintaining a proper roster through recruiting, retention and development
- High interpersonal skills, and communication skills
- Highly Self-motivated with the ability to motivate others as well
- Excellent leadership and multitasking abilities
- Assist General Manager in creating a successful schedule that sets the operation up for success based on sales/volume trends
- Maintains restaurant cleanliness, identifies maintenance problems and identifies opportunities that need to be addressed and communicates findings/suggestions to General Manager
- Ability to work in a fast moving; high energy environment while working as part of a team within diverse groups of people
Qualifications:
- US work authorization (Required)
- Punctual, attentive to detail, friendly, willing to learn, reliable and above all, honest
- A total of 3 + years hospitality experience
- ServSafe certified
- Ability to work as part of the restaurant, crew, and management team
- Excellent Food and Beverage knowledge, cost control measures and good kitchen organization experience
- In depth knowledge of sanitation principles, food preparation techniques and nutrition
- Flexible working hours, including weekends and evenings, when necessary
- Willingness to uphold high standards
- Possess strong organizational and decision-making skills
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $15.00 - $30.00 per hour
Expected hours: 30 – 40 per week
