Job Description
The ideal candidate should be proactive, flexible, and who can balance multiple projects and enjoys a collaborative environment. The candidate must be a quick learner, who can effectively navigate database software, is digitally advanced, and has excellent written and verbal communication skills. The candidate must exercise exceptional judgment in dealing with sensitive issues and have a keen eye for detail. The person must be a team player, who is self-motivated and has the ability to recruit and train lay volunteers, and to delegate non-confidential responsibilities with oversight to successful completion.
The ideal candidate will be a self-starter, willing to assume responsibilities and initiate projects at their own direction; must be able to work alongside different areas to achieve the overall goal of the organization; must be congenial and welcoming to everyone; must be willing to work with a Christian community that supports LGBTQ+ community.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
- Offer administrative support as needed, including (but not limited to) managing the church calendar, scheduling meetings, answering phones and taking detailed messages.
- Facilitate inter-departmental communication by being a liaison between staff and laity.
- Greet laity promptly and take care of their needs in a friendly and professional manner, while determining whether it is appropriate to direct them to Clergy and or staff.
- Facilitate marketing efforts by providing scheduled social media posts, website updates and three church communications a week.
- Create the content and graphics for marketing efforts.
- Organize and file digital and physical documents, including church member interest forms, laity information and various reports.
- Follow up with laity and potential new members on a weekly, monthly or annual basis as dictated by the Senior Pastor to ensure that their needs are being adequately met and to build rapport.
- Perform clerical and administrative functions for the Senior Pastor to support our church’s mission and ministries
- Maintain and ensure the integrity of the database content
- Maintain attendance records, prospect file, and weekly visitor list as needed
- Maintain reservation list for Wednesday nights and other special meals and programs
- Order and maintain necessary office supplies
- And any other related task as specified
Qualifications Required
- Associate/Bachelor’s degree and/or 3 years of administrative experience
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously
- Ability to recruit and train lay volunteers
- Graphic design experience preferred
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent attention to detail, organization, and priority management
- Must be professional, congenial, calm demeanor
- With access to personal and personnel matters, must honor confidentiality
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (MS Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Publisher)
- Proficiency in Squarespace and Constant Contact
- Ability to quickly learn church database software
- Manage interruptions with grace and patience
- Must be committed to the church’s mission and message
- Previous administrative experience

Pay: $38,000.00 - $40,000.00 per year
