The Director of Sales & Marketing is responsible for all sales and marketing activities for the Company’s operations in the United States and Canada. Develops both short and long-range marketing and sales objectives, plans strategies for attainment, and develops performance standards for measuring progress. Oversees collection and evaluation of industry, technical, economic, and other relevant data to increase market size and competitive posture. The Director of Sales & Marketing will interact effectively across all departments of our multi-national Company.
This role can be based out of the Puget Sound or Portland area, either in person or up to 50% hybrid. Expectation of 25 – 50% travel. The Director of Sales & Marketing will report to the President/CEO.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
General Responsibilities
- Contribute to critical decisions pertaining to our Company-wide strategic initiatives, operating model and operational execution and corporate policy development.
- Develop and implements strategic marketing and sales plans to foster business and market share growth.
- Develop forecasts to achieve Company objectives for products and services.
- Mentor and develop the sales and marketing teams, provide training opportunities, problem resolution, performance evaluation, and the building of an effective team dynamic.
- Develop and manage sales/marketing operating budgets.
- Monitor competitor products, key customers, sales and marketing activities.
- Establish and maintain relationships with industry influencers and key strategic partners.
Sales Responsibilities
- Develop sales programs in support of our Company’s strategic plan.
- Direct sales forecasting activities and sets performance goals accordingly.
- Update and make modifications to plans to meet evolving market conditions and emerging opportunities.
- Cultivate strong relationships with key customers, including distributors, dealers, contractors, and homeowners.
- Create and implement detailed strategies to enter potential new markets or new customer relationships.
- Develop sales tools, collateral and KPIs to enable, measure and report on sales effectiveness.
Marketing Responsibilities
- Develop marketing programs in support of our Company’s strategic plan.
- Develop marketing strategy to grow market share in existing markets and customer sets and capture new ones.
- Analyze and interpret market research data to identify trends and opportunities and identify adjustments to strategies leading to sustainable and enhanced growth of business.
- Oversee and evaluate market research and adjusts marketing strategy to meet changing market and competitive conditions.
- Ensure effective control of marketing results and takes corrective action to guarantee that achievement of marketing objectives falls within designated budgets.
- Plan and oversee promotion activities including print, online, electronic media and direct mail.
Product Management Responsibilities
- Collaborate closely with the sales and production teams to understand market needs and opportunities.
- Provide input into product roadmap and development priorities based on customer feedback, market research, and competitive analysis.
- Ensure alignment between sales and marketing efforts and product strategies to drive product adoption and revenue growth.
- Lead the planning and execution of new product launches, including developing go-to-market strategies, pricing models, and promotional campaigns.
- Work cross-functionally to ensure successful product introduction and market penetration.
- Manage the entire product lifecycle, from ideation to retirement, ensuring products meet customer needs and remain competitive in the market.
- Monitor product performance and customer satisfaction, making recommendations for product enhancements or discontinuations as needed.
The Director of Sales & Marketing will be a seasoned and mature leader with strong sales and marketing leadership experience. Should have experience managing all sales and marketing areas of responsibility (forecasting, business development, marketing, budgeting, and reporting).

Requirements
Bachelor's or advanced degree in Business, Management, Sales, Marketing, Client Services, or equivalent in training, education or experience in a related field or function.
- Demonstrated success in growing a company(s) sales revenue and market share

- Demonstrated ability in managing, budgeting, and reporting.
- Proven analytical skills and experience interpreting a strategic vision into operations.
- Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of marketing, promotion and demand creation.

Preferred
- Experience in similar industries (building materials, masonry, manufacturing, distribution, retail).
- Experience in companies with revenue of $50 million or greater.
- Skill in examining, developing, re-engineering, and recommending policies and procedures.
- Experience with multiple sales channels: residential, commercial, dealer, etc.
- Experience with industry customer groups: contractors, general contractors, architects, builders, etc.
