Our company is seeking a Porter/Groundskeeper to join our dynamic, growing team at The Mill and The Union apartment communites! Our Groundskeeper is responsible for maintaining all common areas and grounds of the 230-unit multi-family community in a clean, safe, and attractive manner that enhances the community’s curb appeal.

Primary job responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Responsible for the daily upkeep of the grounds and appearance of the property, ensuring that the property is always in “inspection-ready” condition
- Remove snow and ice in inclement weather and keep sidewalks and building access free of hazards
- Rake, sweep, pressure wash, clean, remove trash, shovel, and salt as needed
- Review daily work order priorities with the Maintenance Supervisor at the beginning and end of each day
- Follow and maintain the exterior preventative maintenance programs and schedules established within the company as directed by the Maintenance Supervisor
- Landscape the community as instructed
- Maintain, repair, and inventory all supplies and equipment owned by the property as it pertains to grounds maintenance
- Keep grills in the picnic area clean (where applicable)
- Arrange pool furniture and sweep/clean decks as needed (where applicable)
- Assist maintenance team with minor service/repairs as needed
- Assist maintenance team with trash outs and apartment turns
- Remove obstructions from and maintain the trash compactor hopper in good, working order (where applicable)
- Ensure that all equipment used is properly secured in a locked room at the end of each day
- Observe and report all exterior maintenance needs to the Property Manager or the Maintenance Supervisor
- Provide residents with outstanding customer service
- Other duties as assigned
The ideal candidate will possess the following:
- At least 6 months of relevant experience preferred
- Must exhibit a strong commitment to the service needs of the apartment community and the people within it
- Must possess the ability to read and comprehend equipment manuals and follow directions
- Must be proficient in the use of power tools relevant to the job
- Must possess excellent listening skills and attention to detail
- Must have access to reliable transportation
- Must be able to use independent judgment (following prescribed procedures) to determine actions to be taken, priorities, emergencies, etc.
- Must have a complete understanding and working knowledge of the company’s policies and procedures as it pertains to grounds maintenance
- Must follow and practice safety guidelines at all times
- Must be willing to submit to a background check and a pre-employment drug screen
