Key Living Options is currently seeking experienced, self-motivated, and trustworthy caretakers to assist our individuals in our in-home service. In-home services vary from group home services, in which the DSP will report directly to the individual’s home, serve them under their preferred hours, and assist them in a one-on-one setting. Here at Key Living Options (KLO), we pride ourselves on providing high quality residential, in-home, and community services to adults with intellectual disabilities and we are looking for compassionate and caring individuals to join our team as a direct support professional (DSP).
As an in-home DSP you would:
-Work in the individual’s home for an adult that is diagnosed with intellectual disability and/or developmental disability.
-Provide direct support care services including skill building, providing daily supports in daily living in correlation with Person-Centered Plan, along with all appropriate documentation for providing those services.
-Plan, coordinate, and complete community integration activities either individually or in conjunction with the individual.
Minimum qualifications:
Education:
High School diploma or general education degree (GED) equivalent (preferred)
License:
Virginia's driver's license (required)
Must have own insured vehicle (required)
Other:
Must be able to successfully complete a background check according to the Virginia State and Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Services guidelines
Must be able to pass a TB test
Must be able to lift up 50 pounds
Must have at least 2 years of ID/DD experience

Duties:
- Reading, writing, and carrying out directions
- Charting or taking notes for others to review
- Providing companionship and supportive listening
- Reporting changes in the health or status of the individual
- Taking vitals when needed, ex. Height and weight
- Assistance with feeding when necessary
- Maintaining individual’s health equipment if necessary
- Responding to emergency situations
- Administering medication
- Transporting individual to appointments
- Facilitating community and recreational outings, including transport
- Providing support with hobbies, studies, and social activities
Pay Frequency:
- Bi weekly or Twice monthly
