Job Overview: We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Optometric Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will assist in providing exceptional eye care services and support to our patients. Responsibilities: - Perform preliminary testing on patients, including measuring visual acuity, intraocular pressure, and other diagnostic tests. - Assist the optometrist with patient care procedures and treatments. - Maintain accurate and detailed patient records in compliance with HIPAA regulations. - Prepare examination rooms for patient visits and ensure all equipment is sanitized and ready for use. - Educate patients on contact lens insertion, removal, and care. - Handle administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments, verifying insurance coverage, and processing billing. Requirements: - Knowledge of medical office procedures and terminology. - Familiarity with aseptic techniques and maintaining sterile environments. - Understanding of basic anatomy, physiology, and vital signs. - Experience with optical procedures and equipment preferred. - Proficiency in medical billing processes is a plus. - Ability to adhere to HIPAA regulations regarding patient privacy and confidentiality.
