At Farias Family Law, we are a small but growing law firm looking for a Full-Time Virtual Paralegal for our Massachusetts Divorce & Custody Firm.
Position Summary
We are looking for someone with great people skills who would love managing clients and their cases, is comfortable with technology, loves helping divorce and family law clients, and is excited about personal and professional growth and working with an awesome team!
The position is for 40 hours per week and the pay starts at $45,000 - $65,000 per year, depending on skills and experience, with opportunities for bonuses. We offer paid time off, retirement contributions, and medical insurance reimbursement.
The hours are Mon - Fri 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. EST
The position is a perfect launching point for more advanced positions at the firm.
We will ask you to set up reference calls with your previous managers and other individuals before any job offer.

Summary of Ideal Candidate
Our Paralegal
- Values the client relationship and is committed to guiding the client throughout the process in an informative and compassionate way.
- Manages the case, including drafting legal documents, meeting court deadlines, updating the case file, communicating with team members and third parties, and assisting the attorney with discovery and hearing preparation.
- Consistently and reliably meets billable hour requirements.
Outcomes
Case Management:
- Manage a caseload of divorce cases efficiently and effectively, ensuring timely progress and forward and goal-focused movement for clients.
- Ensure compliance with court rules and deadlines.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date case documentation, including notes to the file and activity entries in case management program.
- Communicate effectively with team members to ensure synchronization.
- Assist attorney with strategy, planning, financial and legal analysis and planning for court events and meetings.
- Schedule and manage phone/video calls with third parties and clients.
- Communicate with opposing attorneys and parties about case activity and deadlines
- Draft, edit, and maintain legal documents accurately
- Assist attorneys with proactive and creative discovery to gain leverage and position the case well and ensure our client’s compliance.
Client Communication and Satisfaction:
- Achieve high levels of client satisfaction, as evidenced by receiving at least a 9 out of 10 rating on each client survey of attorney performance and service.
- Set and continuously adjust and manage client expectations based on case developments.
- Provide responsive and empathetic communication to clients, addressing their concerns and keeping them informed about the status of their cases, including regular updates to the clients about case activities and status.
- Foster positive relationships with clients, earning their trust and confidence through professionalism, integrity, and advocacy.

- Generate at least 67% of total working time as billable.
- Enter all activities in the case management system accurately and contemporaneously as the work is done.
