Position: Paramedic, Full-Time (FLSA Non-exempt)
Pursuant to Chapter 29 of the Village of Waterford Code of Ordinances, the Village of Waterford EMS Department is currently accepting applications to establish an eligibility list for the full-time position of PARAMEDIC. Individuals that apply should be highly motivated, hold a commitment to excellent moral character and have an established history of personal integrity and honesty.
The 2024 starting salary range for PARAMEDIC is $25.00-29.00/hr ($75,675 – $87,783) with a 48/96 work schedule and includes both an attractive and comprehensive insurance/vacation package as well as enrollment in the Wisconsin Retirement System (WRS). Lateral transfer of service time will be considered. In alignment with §28-4(D) of the Village of Waterford Code of Ordinances, successful applicants will have the opportunity to apply to serve as Firefighters with the Village of Waterford Fire Department for additional compensation consistent with Chapter 28 of the Village of Waterford Code of Ordinances and the 7K Exemption of the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA).

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Experience:
· Be 18 years of age or older.
· Have a high school diploma or GED.
· Must possess a valid Wisconsin State driver’s license and have a satisfactory
· driving record.
· Be legally eligible to be employed in the United States.
· Meet insurability requirements of the Village’s insurance carrier.
· Must be able to read, write and speak in the English language.
Minimum Certifications:
· State of Wisconsin or National Registry of Emergency Medical Technician (NREMT) Paramedic license.
Preferred Certifications:
· State of Wisconsin Paramedic license with Critical Care Endorsement.
· State of Wisconsin Paramedic license with Community Paramedic Endorsement.
· Current Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
· NIMS/ICS 100, 200, 700, 800
Desired Certifications:
· Hiring preference will be granted to individuals holding at least Wisconsin Firefighter I certification and desire to serve with the Village of Waterford Fire Department.
· Applicants possessing desired or other pertinent certifications and/or training will receive additional consideration.

POSITION DESCRIPTION
GENERAL PURPOSE:
This position performs Protective Service work by responding to Emergency and Non-Emergency Medical Calls for Service (EMS), while holding in the highest regard the departments Mission, Vision, and Values.

· Respond to Emergency Medical Service (EMS) Calls for Service.
· Provide appropriate and timely medical care and transport of the sick and injured in alignment with applicable laws, regulations, guidelines, procedures and pre-hospital protocols.

SUPERVISION RECEIVED:
This position performs under the supervision of the Emergency Medical Services (EMS) Director and/or appointed supervisor.
SUPERVISION EXERCISED:
This position may be required to perform duties and execute responsibilities of a supervisor in order to maintain operational readiness.
