MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Perform set up and/or operate machine to produce products using 3, 4 - and 5-axis CNC machines.
2. On a daily basis is responsible for the accurate production of components that meet the print and quality standards.
3. Reads blueprints and/or specifications to understand and apply the requirements of products to accurately and legibly process work orders.
4. Measures product dimensions, examines functionality, and compares the product to required specifications to ensure final products meet Customer expectations and Company standards.
5. Perform in process inspection, along with completing inspection guide sheets
6. Documents in-process inspection outcomes by completing detailed reports. Communicates the results of inspections and provides corrective suggestions to Supervisor and/or manufacturing personnel.
7. Interface with QC (i.e., regarding first piece inspection) as needed.
8. Utilizes all types of measuring instruments (i.e., micrometers, depth micrometers, verniers, and other related equipment) to inspect parts in accordance with the appropriate output samples and inspection methods defined on provided inspection guide sheets.
9. Keep machine(s) and work area clean from oils, chips, and unwanted materials.
10. Contribute to a safe work environment through the correct use of equipment and reporting machine malfunctions.
11. Actively participates in Company 6S/Lean initiatives.
12. Recommends improvements to the production process to ensure quality control.
13. Works independently and/or within a team on special/non-recurring ongoing projects – occasionally includes assisting in the completion of Validation/equipment qualification “OQ” and/or performing Gage Repeatability and Reproducibility (Gage R&R) studies for gages and fixture setups.
14. Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements include:
· Minimum of three (3) years' experience is preferred.
· Capable of setting up/operating 3, 4 - and 5- axis CNC Milling jobs, aided by setup documentation.
· Ability to read and interpret blueprints and specifications.
· Familiarity with the utilization or measuring instruments – comparator, height gages/electronic height gages, caliper, thread plug gages, and other job-related measuring instruments.
· Familiar with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
· Prior exposure to Medical Device industry/working in compliance to ISO 13485 and/or ISO 9001 is a plus.
· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
· Strong understanding of blueprints and specifications. Knowledge of sampling and inspection plans.
