Under the direction of the Merchandise Shop Lead, performs functions directly related to the overall management of designated retail locations.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Additional duties may be assigned. Management retains the discretion to change or add to the duties of this position at any time.
- Manage daily operating strategies of designated retail location(s) in accordance with profit goals, legal guidelines and SMP standards
- Assist Shop Lead in the training, development and evaluation of shop hosts, documenting performance on an on-going basis, recognizing successes, and developing performance plans when necessary.
- Maintain visual merchandising and product flow methods for high volume sales location(s)
- Maintain clean and organized sales environment
- Manage product inventory levels for shop, ensuring that product flows effectively and communicating additional product needs/ideas to Shop Lead and Department Supervisors/Manager
- Monitor and evaluate shop performance including sales, labor, and product information to ensure business goals are met
- Ensure that all revenue and audit related documentation is recorded accurately within assigned location, that staff is properly trained on all cash handling and loss prevention procedures and policies, and that all cash policies and procedures are consistently enforced within the sales location(s)
- Partner with department Duty Manager on a daily basis to maintain appropriate staffing levels in accordance with business needs, enforce all staffing and attendance polices, and maintain crew member employment documentation as it pertains to the shop level
- Assist in the development and maintenance of location specific employee relations and sales incentives programs and assist with the maintenance of department and park-wide programs to boost staff morale and retention and to increase sales productivity
- Provide assigned location Hosts with necessary information, tools and feedback to effectively perform their job duties
- Assist in the development of and utilize effective communication system within the sales location to communicate important day to day information between shop leadership team members and to crew members
- Respond to and take appropriate action to resolve concerns and complaints both from park guests and staff members
- Maintain professional work environment within sales location. This includes setting clear behavioral expectations for subordinates and developing positive and professional relationships and communication lines with all subordinates, peers, managers and guests, serving as an example to all park crew members
- Participate in a shop “Duty” rotation to ensure sales location coverage during operating hours, set-up, inventory, etc.
- Comply with and maintain all departmental and park policies, standards, and procedures
- Perform job duties in a safe manner
- Perform job duties of subordinate departmental roles as necessary
- All other duties as assigned
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
These are carried out in accordance with applicable safety policies and laws. Responsibilities include but not limited to:
- Supervising department hourly staff
- Training and coaching staff
- Managing daily labor spending
- Appraising, rewarding, and disciplining employees, taking immediate corrective action as necessary against any employees found to be in violation of Park or departmental procedures/regulations
- Ensuring proper and on time opening and closing of operations
- Working through location staff to ensure shop and department goals and standards are met
- Ensuring team members are trained, developed, and equipped to meet department operating standards
- Ensuring staff adherence to proper grooming standards
- Ensuring staff adherence to proper hospitality procedures
- Ensuring staff adherence to safety regulations
SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS

- Must be at least 16 years of age or older

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- High school diploma or equivalent education preferred
- Retail management experience preferred
- Minimum of 1 year experience in hospitality or customer service industry preferred
