Alloy is looking for a welder with mechanical ability for field installation and service work. There is opportunity for considerable overtime. This is a chance to learn an industry and be an important member of a small company. Opportunity to advance to a supervisory role. We are willing to train the right person with good mechanical aptitude.
Requirements
- Ability to weld stick and wire feed
- Ability to use cutting torch
- Mechanical aptitude with grinders, torches, welders, plasma cutters, hand tools, pneumatic tools, hoists
- Ability to read and comprehend a blueprint
- Ability to travel in the United States based but international travel is available, and work weekends
- Valid driver’s license
- Ability to document and report hours and reports when necessary
- Ability to work safely and follow safety rules and regulations (We care about you!)
- Previously certified as ASME code welder is a plus but not a requirement for hire.
Physical Requirements of Job Functions
- Physical labor required
- Ability to lift/move up to 75 pounds
- Ability to work in less than ideal conditions, i.e. crawl, stoop, kneel, balance, and weld in unusual positions)
- Ability to work at heights
Work Environment/Alloy Customers
Alloy primarily works in rendering plants for independent and packer renderers. By nature rendering is a difficult industry. So expect to work hard in less than ideal conditions. Although it is not a glamorous industry many Alloy employees have made a career out of this industry.
