We are a looking for a qualified IT System Administrator that will install and maintain computer systems and networks aiming for the highest functionality. You will also “train” users of the systems to make appropriate and safe usage of the IT infrastructure.
A successful IT Technician must have a thorough knowledge of computer software and hardware and a variety of internet applications, networks and operating systems. The ideal candidate will also have great troubleshooting abilities and attention to details.

IT Specialist Responsibilities Include:
- Provide technical support for both hardware and software issues our users encounter
- Set up workstations with computers and necessary peripheral devices (routers, printers etc.)
- Check computer hardware (HDD, mouse, keyboard etc.) to ensure functionality
- Install and configure appropriate software and functions according to specifications
- Manage the configuration and operation of client-based computer operating systems
- Monitor the system daily and respond immediately to security or usability concerns
- Develop and maintain local networks in ways that optimize performance
- Ensure security and privacy of networks and computer systems
- Provide orientation and guidance to users on how to operate new software and computer equipment
- Create and verify backups of data
- Respond to and resolve help desk requests
- Upgrade systems and processes as required for enhanced functionality and security issue resolution
- Organize and schedule upgrades and maintenance without deterring others from completing their work
- Perform troubleshooting to diagnose and resolve problems (repair or replace parts, debugging etc.)
- Maintain records/logs of repairs and fixes and maintenance schedule
- Identify computer or network equipment shortages and place orders
- Administrate infrastructure, including firewalls, databases, malware protection software and other processes
- Review application logs
- Install and test computer-related equipment
- Support cloud and local servers including servers deployment, migration, security configurations, patching, and troubleshooting.
- Respond to after-hours trouble calls on a limited basis
IT Specialist requirements:
- Proven experience as IT Specialist or relevant position
- Experience automating tasks in Bash, sh, Python, or another scripting language
- Excellent diagnostic and problem solving skills
- Excellent communication ability
- Outstanding organizational and time-management skills
- In depth understanding of diverse computer systems and networks
- Good knowledge of internet security and data privacy principles
- Degree in Computer Science, engineering or relevant field
- Certification as IT System Administrator will be an advantage (e.g. CompTIA A+, Microsoft Certified IT Professional)
- 4+ years’ experience in system administration
- Associate or higher degree in a related field
- Extensive experience with VMware, SQL, Windows, Linux
- Familiarity working in environments with multiple levels of firewalls, routing, and network
- Advanced knowledge of system vulnerabilities and security issues
- Ability to respond to help desk requests after hours on a limited basis
